Create a QR code for a PDF link
Put a brochure, product manual or reference sheet within reach of a printed scan. Start with a PDF you already host, then encode its web link in a static QR code.
Preview for free. One $4.97 payment buys one static QR code in 4096px PNG, scalable SVG and real PDF. The downloaded PDF contains your QR code; it is not hosting for the document readers will open.

Is a static PDF link right for this print job?
A good fit
You control a stable document URL, the intended readers can open it, and you need a QR for a brochure, display or packaging. You can maintain the linked file for as long as the printed material circulates.
Resolve these needs first
If you need file uploads, document hosting, editable QR destinations, scan counts or access management, arrange those separately. GenerateQR provides static QR files and does not provide those services.
A static QR keeps the encoded URL. You can change the document served at that URL if your host supports it, but replacing a file with a new URL requires a new QR and replacement prints. See the static versus dynamic decision guide.
Choose the destination before buying files
- Use a stable HTTPS link. A file on your computer cannot be opened from someone else’s phone. Publish only material you are authorized to share on a host you control, or use an existing approved sharing link.
- Choose a direct PDF or a document page. A direct PDF is a short path to one file. A page on your website can add a version date, accessible text, file size and alternative formats. Choose the page if the reader needs context or several documents.
- Check access as a reader. Open the link while signed out and on another device. Public handouts should not unexpectedly ask for an account. Restricted documents should retain their intended authentication; a QR code does not grant access.
- Preview and scan. Paste the URL into the generator, scan the preview, and confirm the correct document and version open. Check text readability and loading on a phone.
- Buy and proof the final artwork. Use SVG for scalable layout, PNG when your design app needs an image, or the QR PDF when your workflow accepts PDF. Test a proof at its actual printed size before a full print run.
Google Drive users can check Google’s sharing and access documentation. Public link access means anyone holding that link can open it; do not use it for confidential documents.
Make the printed handoff clear
Label the code with the actual document, such as “Open the assembly manual,” and include a readable fallback web address. Keep the blank border around the symbol: DENSO WAVE specifies a four-module quiet zone. Use the print sizing guide for layout and proofing.
If the scan opens a permission screen, diagnose the destination before generating more codes. Our PDF QR access troubleshooting guide separates permission, URL and scanning failures.
Ready with a tested document link?
Create the preview first. Purchase the one $4.97 QR download only after you have checked the destination and print requirements. Document hosting remains your responsibility.
